When you sync a Pocket PC with a computer for the first time, ActiveSync creates a partnership with the Pocket PC, generally under the name "Pocket_PC." If you want to change this name, you can do so by tapping the Pocket PC's Start button, selecting "Settings," and then tapping the "System" tab.

From the "System" menu, tap the "About" icon and select the "Device ID" tab. From here, you can rename your Pocket PC.

This should be done before creating a partnership on your computer for the first time. If you've already set up a partnership between your Pocket PC and your computer, you will have to set up another partnership under the new name.
