HTC's Touch Diamond is an update for and replacement to the popular HTC Touch and is similar in design to the upcoming HTC Touch Pro (though the Diamond does not have an onboard slide-to-hide QWERTY keyboard). The Touch Diamond has an impressive feature set, which includes 4GB of onboard flash storage, a VGA screen, a 528MHz Qualcomm processor, a 3.2MP camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, HSDPA/HSUPA mobile broadband, and GPS.
Like the Touch before it, the Touch Diamond includes TouchFLO, but with a twist; HTC has updated the software as TouchFLO 3D, which "provides animated access to people, messaging, email, photos, music, weather and more." HTC has also added a new web browser based on Opera which makes browsing the web easier and more familiar.
According to HTC, the Touch Diamond will be officially available in the United States sometime in the second half of 2008, although unlocked versions of the handset can be purchased on eBay. The first Diamond offically sold in the US with be a CDMA version available from Sprint, possibly as early as August 2008. GSM versions may be sold by T-Mobile or AT&T Mobility later in the year.
