HTC Touch Diamond
HTC's Touch Diamond is an update for and replacement to its popular predecessor, the HTC Touch, and is similar in design to the HTC Touch Pro (though the Diamond does not have an onboard slide-to-hide QWERTY keyboard).
The Touch Diamond has an impressive feature set, which includes 4GB of onboard flash storage, a VGA screen, a 528MHz Qualcomm processor, a 3.2MP camera, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.0, HSDPA/HSUPA mobile broadband, and GPS.
Like the Touch before it, the Touch Diamond includes TouchFLO, but with a twist; HTC has updated the software as TouchFLO 3D, which "provides animated access to people, messaging, email, photos, music, weather and more." HTC has also added a web browser based on Opera which makes browsing the web easier and more familiar.
Sprint has released its own CDMA version of the HTC Touch Diamond (see Sprint Touch Diamond), as has Verizon Wireless (see Verizon Touch Diamond) and you can also purchase unlocked versions of the handset in the United States for use on GSM networks (AT&T Mobility and T-Mobile). At present, no U.S. GSM/GPRS carrier directly offers the Touch Diamond.
The Touch Diamond will be replaced in mid 2009 with the upcoming HTC Touch Diamond2.
