The iPAQ hx4705 has been officially discontinued by HP.
The hx4705
(also sold as the hx4700) is powered by the 624MHz PXA270 XScale
processor from Intel (see also Dell Axim
X51v). The hx4705 is also the only
iPAQ Pocket PC ever sold with a high-res VGA screen.
An
interesting and innovative feature of the iPAQ
hx4705 is its touchpad. Below the LCD, where
the navigation pad is normally located, the
hx4705 has a laptop-like touchpad, giving the
unit a cleaner, smoother interface. There's also a mouse-like pointer on the screen.
HP released a Windows Mobile 5.0 upgrade for the iPAQ hx4705 in 2006. Click here to find out more about upgrading.
There is a modern successor to the iPAQ hx4700 Series Pocket PC. Find out more about the new iPAQ 210 Enterprise Handheld.
