Sprint
PCS will be offering a new Pocket PC phone later
this year, the Audiovox PPC-6600. Sold overseas
as the Daxian CU928 (shown left), the PPC-6600 has
a never-before-seen Pocket PC design. A QWERTY
keyboard forms the rear of the device and slides
down when needed to allow quick data entry. The
design is being referred to as "slide-to- hide."
According to Sprint PCS, the Audiovox
PPC-6600 will run Windows Media 2003 and have onboard
Bluetooth wireless technology. Powered by a
400MHz XScale processor, the PPC-6600 has 128 combinded
memory, an onboard VGA quality digital camera, and
a Secure Digital slot with SDIO compatiblity.
Neither Sprint PCS nor Audiovox have
released physical specifications on the PPC-6600,
but information on the Daxian version of this PPC
phone show that it's 7.4oz with dimentions of 4.9"
x 2.75" x.75."
