It is not yet known whether the PDA Phone will be available directly from Dell or from wireless carriers, but given Dell's preference for direct selling, they will likely choose to sell the device unlocked for use with carriers' SIM cards.
As previously reported, Dell recently hired Ron Garriques who had been the head of the Mobile Device Unit at Motorola. Mr. Garriques' acquisition was seen by many as an indication of Dell's plan to enter the phone market.
