In April, a similar rumor was reported by DigiTimes. At that time the smartphone, code named "Fly," was described as running Windows Mobile 6 Professional, though this detail is not corroborated by the Forbes article. DigiTimes also reported that the Fly would be a PDA Phone with a touchscreen interface.
In the past, Dell has been more successful than many of its competitors at maintaining fairly tight lock down on upcoming product information, and neither Forbes nor Pocket PC Central were not able to confirm this story.
Stay tuned to Pocket PC Central for more information on any Dell-branded PDA phone or smartphone in the coming weeks.
