According to the French web site, Smartphone France, the iPAQ 614c will be a candy bar styled device with a number pad, no QWERTY keyboard and a new touch-based virtual scroll wheel replacing the more traditional navpad.

Specs include a 2.8" QVGA touchscreen display, a 3MB digital camera, 802.11g Wi-Fi, HSDPA (3G) and an integrated GPS receiver. The site did not include information on Bluetooth, though it's difficult to believe that a Bluetooth radio would not be included. There's also no mention of CPU speed, flash memory storage capacity or included system memory.
The iPAQ 914c will be the successor to the current hw6900 Series Mobile Messenger, and indeed is labeled as an "iPAQ Business Messenger." Specifications for this device are the same as the 614c, as far as Smartphone France is aware, except this device will include a below-the-screen QWERTY keyboard (like the current Mobile Messengers from HP) and a landscape display.

HP has not officially announced its plans for this new family of iPAQs, though it is expected to do so sometime in the fall. All information should be treated as rumor until confirmed. As more information becomes available, it will be posted in the Pocket PC Central News Center. Have questions, comments or information regarding the upcoming iPAQs? E-mail us.
