We first got word of the Samsung SGH-i780 late last year when the company showed off the handset at GITEX in Dubai. The model shown was outfitted with a European transceiver and hopes for a U.S. release were dim.
Now we know a variant of the i780, the SGH-i788, is indeed be headed to the States. It was originally thought to be sold as the BlackJack 3, recent information indicates the handset will be sold by AT&T Mobility as the Samsung Epix and will launch on or around October 23, 2008.
The Samsung SGH-i788 runs Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional (touchscreen), and boasts HSDPA, GPS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. One interesting feature is its optical mouse, a touch-sensitive area in the center of its navigation pad.
As more information becomes available on the Samsung i788 BlackJack 3, it will be posted here. Have information or questions regarding the BlackJack 3? E-mail us.
