Following the popular BlackBerry Pearl, the new BlackBerry 8800 continues Research In Motion's move toward more modern smartphones with built-in multimedia, memory expansion, web browsing and instant messaging. Of course, the 8800 boasts the famous BlackBerry push e-mail functionality as well.
Like the BlackBerry Pearl, the 8800 features RIM's trackball navigation system. Unlike the Pearl, the BlackBerry 8800 has a true QWERTY keyboard, so you won't need to bother with the clumsier SureType thumb board which put off many users. Sold by both T-Mobile & AT&T (formerly Cingular Wireless), the BlackBerry 8800 has built-in Bluetooth 2.0, a 320x240 color display, a GPS receiver with BlackBerry Maps, EDGE data connectivity support, and more. The T-Mobile version of the 8800 also supports MyFaves.
The RIM BlackBerry 8800 handset is now available from AT&T (Cingular) and T-Mobile.
