HP has been pretty quiet on the Windows Mobile front since late 2007, but there appears to be at least two new additions to the family of iPAQ handhelds coming in 2009. The HP iPAQ Silver is one of them, a Windows Mobile 6 Standard Smartphone (non-touchscreen) aimed at consumers.
Featuring a design quite different than past iPAQ handhelds, the Silver appears to be quite thin and sports a blue exterior, though the final product may be available in several colors. Primary features include built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS, HSDPA network compatibility, and an RIM SureType keyboard. A touchscreen version of the Silver, the iPAQ Oak, is also planned.
While there is no clear indication as to when or if it will make its U.S. debut, if it does ever arrive in the States the Silver would be compatible with T-Mobile and AT&T Mobility wireless networks.
