HTC S522 Windows Mobile Smartphone

Coming Soon... Users have been waiting for a new Messenger-class Windows Mobile Smartphone from HTC since 2007, and now the wait is almost over.  The HTC S522 will arrive in the U.S. this summer.

The HTC S522 is a Windows Mobile 6.1 Standard Smartphone (non-touchscreen) with a front-facing QWERTY keyboard similar to the now-aging Dash. Features include a 528MHz Qualcomm processor, a 256MB flash ROM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, aGPS, HSDPA 3G connectivity and a microSD flash memory card slot with SDHC support.  The device will have a QVGA non-touchscreen display.

The HTC S522 (sold in other parts of the world as the HTC Snap) will be available in the United States in the summer of 2009.  T-Mobile is rumored to be picking up the S522 in early July as a replacement to the current T-Mobile Dash (to be sold, perhaps, as the Dash II or Dash 3G), and the S522 may also be sold by HTC in the U.S. as a unlocked smartphone.  Sprint recently debuted a CDMA version of the HTC Snap, the S511.
