Meet the first-ever non-touchscreen smartphone from Palm, the Treo 500. Recently announced for Europe's mega-carrier Vodafone as the Treo 500v, the new smartphone runs Windows Mobile 6 Standard and sports 3G UMTS wireless data connectivity.
Features include a QWERTY keyboard, 256MB of flash memory storage (of which about 150MB is free to the end user), a 320x240 QVGA display, a 2MP digital camera, Bluetooth 2.0 +EDR, a removable 1200mAh Li-Ion battery and a microSD expansion slot for additional flash memory. The Treo 500 does not include Wi-Fi.
It's unclear whether or not the Treo 500 will come to the United States, and if so, when, but Palm's handhelds generally end up in the States sooner or later, so we'll keep you posted. Of course, being GSM/UMTS, if it does come to the U.S., it'll be to either AT&T or T-Mobile or both.
