HTC will be one of the most active Windows Phone 7 hardware partners with multiple devices slated for release in the first few months following the OS release. One of the first WP7 devices is the HTC Surround, a media centric smartphone.
The HTC Surround is a slider, but rather than a QWERTY keyboard hiding behind its 3.8-inch screen, there's a slide-out Yamaha speaker for portable audio (see in the gallery below). This along with its fold-out kickstand shows the Surround to be focused on video and music playback.
Other features include a capacitive touchscreen, 16GB of onboard flash memory, a 5MP digital camera with HD video recording at 720p, and GPS.
The HTC Surround is sold AT&T Mobility in the United States for $199 with a two-year service agreement. Check other retailers below for better deals. You can follow HTC Surround and all Windows Phone news at the Pocket PC Central News Center.
